One of the largest global conventions in 2019, spanning six continents and over 200 countries and presented in over 400 languages, is coming to the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa. Two conventions will be held in Nampa, one in English and one in Spanish. The English convention has already passed but the Spanish convention will take place from Friday, August 30 - Sunday, September 1st. This marks the first time in over 20 years that a Spanish-speaking convention will be held in Idaho. The theme of this year’s program, “Love Never Fails!” will focus on how love can help you cope with adversity, unite your family, find supportive friends, become a better person, and draw close to God. The multimedia program will include talks, audio dramas, interviews, and videos. “These conventions will highlight the positive influence love can have in uniting people from diverse backgrounds,” states Erik Larson, a local representative for Jehovah’s Witnesses.“ Jehovah’s Witnesses look forward to association with fellow Witnesses and visitors in Nampa. They also appreciate the warm welcome they receive from the many Nampa cafés, restaurants, hotels, and popular tourist destinations that they frequent throughout the weekend they’re here.” A few highlights of the 3-day convention: Friday: Learn how love never fails. Also, learn how to strengthen your love despite problems such as a troubled upbringing, chronic illness, or poverty. Through a series of short documentary videos about the natural world, see evidence of God’s love. Saturday: Consider Bible principles that are helping husbands, wives, and children to show unfailing love for one another. Sunday: The public Bible discourse, “True Love in a Hate-Filled World—Where?,” will make clear how showing love is helping millions of people worldwide to overcome prejudice and hatred.
